My designs are thoughtfully handcrafted with quality materials from
around the world. I use mostly sterling and Argentium silver, some 14 karat
gold-filled wire and findings in my designs and occasionally use pure 14 karat gold,
fine silver, and copper. Semiprecious (and some precious) gemstone, freshwater pearl,
and mother-of-pearl beads are used in my designs. I also use beach glass that I've found along the shores of Lake Erie over the years. I remember finding my first shells and beach glass at the beach in Vermilion, Ohio when I was four years old and I've been captivated by it ever since.
My interest in the meanings of colors, numbers, and the energetic and
healing properties of stones were what drew me to create jewelry nearly
20 years ago; and the infinite combinations and inspiration found in nature,
colors, and textures are what inspire me the most. I have found that following
my intuition is the key to creating a fun, feminine, beautiful piece of jewelry
that has meaning and is made to last a lifetime.
When I'm is not making jewelry, you can find me experimenting in my garden (which includes trying to keep up with the weeds). I also enjoy yoga (but not as regularly as I'd like to think). I'm pursuing my Bachelor of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health and am quite possibly obsessed with food. I support local farms and food producers and buy local as often as possible. I'm married to Adam Pate, the caricature guy. We have two of the best dogs in the world; Daisy, a German shepherd, and Dewey, a pointer/beagle mix. There is never a dull moment around here.
